Indeed Jobs

As soon as the interview is concluded, there are several activities that need to be addressed:

1. Close for the next step in the process; find out the “who, what, when, where, why” of the process to better understand the company’s goals.
2. Jot down some notes from your view of the just-completed interview, evaluating the meeting from both sides and noting the pros and cons.
3. Take a minute to email or hand-write a thank you note to the interviewer(s) to show your consideration of their time.
4. If appropriate, let them know of your interest in the position and your desire and ability to do the job successfully.
5. Report immediately to a recruiter the results of the interview as you graded it and thank them for their efforts, while also asking their opinion of how the company will proceed.
6. If there are activities, awards, duties, etc., that you failed to mention that could help you move to the next step, include those in a note.
7. Continue doing research on the company based on your newly found knowledge gained from the interview.
8. If the next step in the process is in question or not clear, write to the interviewer, recapping the interview and asking for clarification.
9. If you had a coach or company “inside influence” for gaining the interview, contact them for an honest appraisal of the proceedings.
10. Above all, follow-up! Be persistent and do not let up until you have an answer to proceed to the next interview or, hopefully, to an offer.
